Benefits of Staging
Home Staging has been growing in popularity as a useful tool in real estate for the past several years. It can be difficult for a Seller to make the decision to stage a home as it can be an abstract cost. How can you correlate staging a home to the sold price, days on market, or increased value of the home being sold?
We have gathered our information from NAR – National Association of Realtors, and HSR – Home Staging Resource to reassure our clients about this investment. We can email you the complete document upon request, but here are the highlights:
- 40% of buyers’ agents cited that home staging had an effect on most buyers’ view of the home.
- 83% of buyers’ agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.
- The most common rooms that were staged included the living room (93%), kitchen (84%), master bedroom (78%), and the dining room (72%).
- 22% of sellers’ agents reported an increase of 1-5% of the dollar value offered by buyers, in comparison to similar homes. 17% of respondents stated that staging a home increased the dollar value of the home between 6-10%
- 28% of sellers’ agents stated that there were slight decreases in the time on the market when the home is staged.
- None of the respondents reported that staging a home had a negative impact on the home’s dollar value.
